WILMINGTON – Crime investigators across the state are taking another look at some cold cases after new murder charges were filed Tuesday against accused serial killer John Wayne Boyer. Boyer is now tied to three murders in three states including North Carolina.

The latest case involves 34-year old Michelle Haggadone.

Boyer has admitted to killing Haggadone and dumping her body in Darlington County, S.C.

Haggadone is not the only woman who has either disappeared or been killed and dumped in the area. Since 1995, at least five other women have met the same fate by unknown killers.

Monica Caison, with the CUE Center for Missing Persons said with the latest Boyer developments, they will give some cases another look.

“A lot of the families are calling and asking that their case be included in possibly revisiting with him. I think that’s an indication that not only are we thinking that these cases need to be looked back over and just rule it out,” said Caison.

Boyer is currently serving time for a Wilmington murder and he’s indicted in Tennessee on another murder.
